The Cortefiel & Pedro del Hierro Club is celebrating its 40th anniversary and wishes to share a very special toast with all of its members and friends. For this, they have selected two wines designed specifically for the occasion by the iconic Bodega Matarromera.
These products are the perfect expression of two of the most prestigious Designations of Origin in our country, Ribera del Duero and Rueda, in a limited and exclusive edition.
The Cortefiel & Pedro del Hierro Club will hold 17 events throughout October in stores across Spain to thank and raise a toast to all the members who have supported it during this time.
This is just one of the many surprises that the Club has prepared to celebrate its 40th anniversary, since it was founded in 1979 as the first fashion loyalty club in Spain. The Cortefiel & Pedro del Hierro Club currently has more than 6.5 million members in Spain.
Bodega Matarromera was founded by the winemaker Carlos Moro and it has been well respected for decades, from its first vintage being recognised as the best wine in the world and also being chosen for the wedding of the King and Queen of Spain, up to today when it took centre stage at the 20th Anniversary of the Forum of Renowned Brands in New York.
The wines designed for this occasion:
Matarromera Crianza 2016 represents the expertise of the classic Ribera del Duero wines and is a benchmark for the great wines of Spain. This Matarromera wine par excellence is made from 100% tempranillo grapes and aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels, with a fine grain and a medium toast. It is then left to rest in the bottle, to be refined and to acquire the complexity that is characteristic of this great wine.
Matarromera Verdejo Fermentado en Barrica 2016 is made from 100% of the best Verdejo grapes from the most select areas of a Matarromera vineyard in Villalba de Adaja (Valladolid). This wine has been fermented in new French oak barrels and subsequently aged for 6 months. It is a highly sophisticated white wine with multiple nuances. It is very balanced, both fresh and unctuous.
Furthermore, members of the Cortefiel and Pedro del Hierro Club who purchase a product between 3 and 13 October from the Spanish brand’s online store, or from any of its more than 140 shops, will be entered into a prize draw for 40 exclusive experiences for two people at the Matarromera wineries. This prize draw, which includes a guided tour of the winery’s facilities, a wine tasting and a tasting menu, is just one of the initiatives that the Cortefiel and Pedro del Hierro Club is organising for their customers this autumn as a way of thanking their members for the past forty years. In addition, the winners of the 40 Matarromera Winery Experiences will be presented with a case of two bottles of Matarromera Special Edition (limited and numbered) Cortefiel and Pedro del Hierro wine. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Vinology, an agency that specialises in the wine industry.
